Aeration
Aeration is an important part of a lawn care program. A
healthy root system is a must for an attractive lawn. Oxygen
in the soil is vital for healthy roots. Root growth is
inhibited by clay and compacted soils because of a
restricted oxygen supply. Aerating promotes rooting and
improves problem soils by allowing air into the soil. An
aerator does this job mechanically without destroying the
turf. Such lawn problems as compaction, thatch, clay soils,
and heavy traffic can be improved by aeration.

The Benefits Of Aeration Are
Numerous |
Aeration...
- Loosens compacted soil
- Breaks up thatch
- Improves water and nutrient infiltration
- Increases oxygen to roots
- Encourages new, deeper root growth
- Reduces water and runoff and puddling
Allowing the roots of your turf grass to receive more
oxygen, water, and nutrients can enhance the growth of the
root base and increase its depth. A stronger, deeper root
base makes the lawn more heat and drought tolerant. |
| Warm-season grasses
can be aerated any time the grass is actively growing.
Basically this should fall between May and early September.
It is best to aerate once a year on a continual basis.
It takes three consecutive years of aerating for the lawn to
receive aeration’s full effect.
Our fee for core aeration is based on the size of your
lawn.
Consider allowing us to provide core aeration in
addition to your lawn care service. Use our
Inquiry Form to request more information.
